Community Center Supervisor

The City of Nevada Parks & Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for a Part-Time Community Center Supervisor.  Requirements include:  graduation from high school or the equivalent and two years professional experience, with at least one year of supervisory experience preferred.  Some experience working in the area of recreation and experience in a customer service position. Knowledge or experience working in an office environment with the ability to operate basic office equipment including: photo copier, fax, telephone, computer, printer, scanner, etc.   Knowledge or experience using basic computer programs and/or applications including, Word, Excel, internet, email.  Basic knowledge of handling of money and using a cash register.

This position reports to the Parks and Recreation Director.

Some of the primary and essential functions of this job include but are not limited to:

  • Manages the administration and maintenance of the Community Center
  • Works with Recreation Programmer and Parks and Recreation Director to develop programming activities for the Community Center.
  • Supervises activities of the Community Center.  Maintains thorough and accurate records of daily attendance, equipment, injuries, discipline, etc.
  • Administers and accepts registrations for recreational leagues and activities handled by the Parks and Recreation Department.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively with others.

The starting wage for this position is $12.49 an hour.

Firefighter I

The City of Nevada Parks and Recreation Department is looking for Cheer Instructors for an upcoming 2014 Youth Cheer Camp.

Instructors must be able to share knowledge of Cheerleading basics; teach cheers, movements and create a dance routine.
