Community Center Attendant

The City of Nevada Parks & Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for a part-time attendant position at the Community Center.  This position requires the ability to work a flex schedule, 7 days per week and will carry out customer/public service duties.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  •  Assisting in the administration of recreational leagues and activities provided by the City
  •  Answering the telephone and handling normal office functions
  • Overseeing the basic administration and maintenance of the community center
  • Opening and closing the building
  •  Maintaining records of recreation center attendance, equipment, injuries, discipline, and activities

Eligible applicants must possess a high school diploma or the equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and be at least 18 years of age.

The starting wage for this position is $7.89 an hour.

Group Exercise Instructor

The City of Nevada Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for a seasonal Group Exercise Instructor.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide a fun and safe workout through one or more specialty group exercise classes.
  • Instruct patrons on proper techniques and alternative movements, demonstrate exercises, and teach appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles.
  • Educate participants concerning safe exercise techniques and constantly monitor for safety.
  • Deliver the class in a fun and interesting manner to motivate class participants.
  • Promote classes and assist in special events.
  • Assist to familiarize new participants with class procedures.
  • Greet, introduce and welcome participants.
  • Ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members.

This position will meet on weekday evenings.  Eligible applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

The wage for these positions is $8.00 an hour.

Firefighter I

The Nevada Fire Department is now accepting applications for the position of Firefighter I.  The starting wage for this position is $26,724 per year.
